Houze is the future, and the future is small: five hundred square feet of modular, sustainable perfection, sold to a world close to ignition. Survival, virtue, and safety in one beautiful package.

Six strangers are cast for conflict — different faiths, politics, and scars. The show wants spectacle. What it gets is stranger: the housemates start taking care of each other. That's the rebellion.

Behind the bright promises sits a corporate machine with sins it will bury at any cost. By the time the six understand what they've been living inside, the safest place is the one they can't leave.

About The author
BEN WAKEMAN

Ben writes about people living with one impossible thing — a death you can see coming, a mind you can copy, a drawing that changes everyone who sees it — and the love and grief it drags into the light. A lifelong musician, he's written hundreds of songs and released five albums, and that sensibility runs through his prose. He's also spent thirty years in software, which makes him scary good at writing the place where people and the things they build start to blur. You can explore all his work at Catch & Release (catchrelease.net), where he serializes his latest novel, Daedalia, with an original score and audio narration. He lives in Atlanta with his partner and their young daughter.
